Honored by the opportunity to visit the International Court of Justice in The Hague, located in the impressive Peace Palace. During this visit, I had the privilege of meeting the renowned judge Dr. Leonardo Nemer Caldeira Brant, a distinguished Brazilian jurist and founder of the Center for International Law and Business Studies (CEDIN). His career and contributions to international law are inspiring and represent great pride for Brazil.

Accompanied by the dear Joice Costa, CEO of CEDIN and member Compliance Women Committee this visit was an enriching experience. We discussed relevant topics and the importance of international law in promoting justice and global peace. Dr. Brant’s tireless work at the International Court of Justice reaffirms the importance of commitment to ethics and justice on a global scale.

The International Court of Justice, often referred to as the “World Court,” is the principal judicial organ of the United Nations. Its role is to settle legal disputes between States and provide advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by UN organs and specialized agencies. Being present in this historically and legally significant environment was a transformative experience.

I am grateful to Dr. Leonardo Nemer Caldeira Brant and Joice Costa for the warm reception and productive discussions. This visit further strengthened my admiration for the dedication and positive impact that professionals committed to justice can have.

Additionally, it emphasized the importance of the themes I work with in International Law, including ESG, Human Rights, and GRC.
